Former head of CSIRO Land and Water, Dr John Williams, and climate scientist Prof Andy Pitman will speak at this year's Goyder Water Forum Dinner.
Dr Williams is one of Australia’s most respected and trusted scientists with extensive experience in providing national and international thought-leadership in natural-resource management, particularly in agricultural production and its environmental impact. He is a founding member of the Wentworth Group of Concerned Scientists, a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE) and holds the prestigious Farrer Memorial Medal for achievement and excellence in agricultural science. Dr Williams will talk about the state of water and climate R&D and what impacts this could have on Australia's future.
Professor Pitman is a climate modeller with a major focus on terrestrial processes in global and regional climate models. He has explored the global and regional impacts of land cover change and currently co-leads the Land use change: identification of robust impacts project. He will address climate extremes and how these are likely to change in the future, along with transofrmative research in climate science.
The Water Forum Dinner is a celebratory evening for delegates to come together and celebrate the exceptional achivements of the Goyder Institute. A delicious three-course dinner and drinks will be served at Australia's National Wine Centre on July 4th, 2017.
