Goyder Institute Director Dr Michele Akeroyd was a panellist in the Australia India Youth Dialogue (AIYD) earlier this year.
Each year the AIYD brings together 15 young Australian leaders and 15 young Indian leaders from a range of industries to discuss opportunities and challenges significant to the Australia-India relationship.
The AIYD vision is to provide a sustainable platform for the youth of Australia and India to come together and foster an enduring partnership between the two countries.
Environmental issues were a key topic at this year’s event, incorporating water management, environmental waste and climate change. While it was a privilege to be invited to contribute expertise, it was also a fantastic learning experience for the Institute.
The AIYD provided an opportunity to hear from some intelligent, empowered and inspirational people while gaining a sense of the similar challenges our two countries face.
Further information about the AIYD can be found on its website.
