PRESENTATION DETAILS

Darren Ray, Senior Climatologist at the Bureau of Meteorology will talk about the global climate driving mechanisms influencing South Australia’s wet weather in 2016 and some of the Bureau's advances in stream flow predictive modelling.

Alex Cornish, Regional Hydrology Manager for South Australia in Flood Forecasting and Warning Operations at the Bureau of Meteorology will talk about the forecast, warnings, rainfall and flows for the flood event.

Chris Beattie, Chief Officer at the State Emergency Service will talk about the response and recovery aspects of the Gawler River flooding.

Geoff Fisher, Director, Australian Water Environments has been reviewing the hydrology and floodplain mapping for the Gawler River and developing further flood mitigation options.
